David Barro, (Ferrol, 1974) is an editor from DARDO and the co-director of the Contemporary Art Magazine “Dardo Magazine”. Artistic director of Espacio Atlántico 2010. He is an Art Critic of “El Cultural” (El Mundo newspaper) and in the website www.masdearte.com. He is a consultant of “Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza” and he is a member of the editorial board of the “Grial” (“Editorial Galaxia”) and of the architecture magazine “Obradoiro” (COAG).

He was professor of Arts and Visual Culture at the School of Arts of University of Porto from 2000 to 2006, Art Critic at Lápiz magazine, founding member and director of the [W]Art magazine (from 2003 to 2005), the director of the Arte y Parte magazine (between 1998-1999), the founding member and director of the cultural magazine “InteresArte” (Editorial Galaxia) and former director and founding member of A Chocolataria (Santiago de Compostela).

As a Curator, he has carried out 32 individual exhibitions (Julian Opie, Sandra Cinto, João Pedro Vale, João Tabarra, Vicente Blanco...) and 20 group exhibitions, among which are “Sin título” at the Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza; “Del zero al 2005. Perspectivas del arte en Portugal” (Fundación Marcelino Botín); “Sky Shout. La pintura después de la pintura y Sen Xeración” (Auditorio de Galicia); “Otras Alternativas. Nuevas experiencias visuales en Portugal” (MARCO, Vigo), “Puntos suspensivos (Sala 1, Roma) and Seducidos por el accidente” (Fundación Luis Seoane.
In 2004, he was the co - director of the Spanish and Portuguese representation at the “Video Zone - the 2 International Video-Art Bienal in Israel”.

- “Imagens (Pictures) para uma representação contemporânea”,
- “Sky Shout. La pintura después de la pintura” (in partnership with Álvaro Negro)
- “Voces de Atlántica” (in partnership with Carme Vidal),
- Monographs about artists such as Richard Long or Gary Hill.

He is a founding member of the Spanish Contemporary Arts Institution (IAC) and member of its two first directive councils. He was also editorial coordinator of “ARCOESPECIAL 05”, of the cataloguing of the “Colección Fundación ARCO” and the Coordinator of the IV Atlantic Forum of Contemporary Arts (1999).
